The Book Thief: A personal review.

This review do not content spoilers.
More of a recommendation.

The Book Thief manages to combine an important and painful part of history -the times of Nazi Germany- with a beautiful and heartbreaking story -Liesel Meminger's life and the ones that were an early part of it-. The merging of this two aspects gave the book the sense of strength and fullness that makes it characteristic since the beginning.

The author, Markus Zuzak, marvellously thought of a different but interesting way to narrate the story; giving you a perspective worth analysing further -even way after the book-. Achieving, on top of that, an amazing level of detailing; the details allow you to develop an accurate picture of the page without much effort. Everything's set for you to see the purity and essence of the characters, making you familiar with them and recognizing the beauty behind their acts.

No opportunity was missed when it came to show the importance of family, relationships, real bonds and those moments and people that will never leave our minds and hearts. It shows how hard situations get to bring people together and overall how our actions and decisions can somehow influence and change the lives of the ones around us.

It was beautiful to see the growth and development of strong characters, that probably existed in some of the people living those hard times. The book fulfilled and surpassed every expectation I had of it. It should definitely go to your 'must read' list.
